Aboriginal culture is over 50 000 years old, and that makes us the oldest living culture in the world.
Our Dreaming stories relate that we were there since the beginning of time.
Our home is the Minjungbal and Ngnarangwal tribes, from the most eastern point of the country they call Australia. Over 10 Tribes make up the nation we call Bundjalung. Our landscape was very beautiful, with majority of the land, being rainforest, running alongside the ocean with a mountain line just behind us.
Our people thrived on the resources from the freshwater rock pools to the saltwater ocean. We hunted and gathered on a daily basis, and each day using our hands to make fishing gear, baskets, weapons and more.Tribal ceremonies being very spiritual were performed annually and the knowledge and power, lore’s and protocols were taught from generation to generation.
Our people were full of respect for everything around us, the land, the people and the life we have been given.
